‘144.3 Billion Ace Dachila’ Triceps discomfort Darvish, 80 pitch replacement… “100% or not”

San Diego Padres Darvish Yu (37) went down the mound after throwing only 80 pitches due to a minor injury.

Darvish started the game against the Minnesota Twins at Target Field in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA on the 12th (Korean time) and recorded 4 hits (1 home run), 1 walk, 1 walk, 7 strikeouts and 2 runs in 6 innings.

Darvish, who recorded 80 pitches in 6 innings, finished the game without appearing in the 7th inning, although he had plenty of pitches. MLB.com, the official major league media, said, “Darvish moved his right arm as if he felt uncomfortable ahead of the 6th inning. He checked his condition with the team trainer but remained on the mound. However, manager Bob Melvin replaced him after the 6th inning even though he only had 80 pitches.”

In a post-match interview, Darvish revealed that he felt a bit tight in his triceps, which had suffered several injuries in the past. But, he added, “it’s not something that bothers me at all.” Still, manager Melvin did not take the risk of further injury.

Manager Melvin explained the reason for replacing Darvish by saying, “I will not let him out in the 7th inning if Darvish feels anything strange.” He continued, “He is fine. Darvish wanted to keep playing. He’ll be fine next time. But I just didn’t want him to throw until the 7th inning unless he was 100 per cent.”

Darvish, who signed a six-year, $108 million (approximately 144.3 billion won) contract extension with San Diego this season, is cruising with an average ERA of 3.16 with 2 wins and 2 losses in 7 games (42⅔ innings). However, because he is a veteran who is not small in age, San Diego is paying a lot of attention to Darvish’s physical condition.안전놀이터

Darvish had an average four-seam speed of 94.9 miles per hour (152.7 km) and a maximum speed of 96.6 miles (155.5 km). Darvish’s four-seam average speed this season is 94.5 miles (152.1 km), not much different from today’s game. Darvish’s injuries weren’t serious, given his restraint.

San Diego had to pay a heavy price for replacing Darvish early on the day. San Diego, which continued a tight 2-2 game through the 6th inning, became the losing pitcher as Brent Honeywell, who took the mound after Darvish went down, collapsed with 1 hit, 1 walk, 1 walk and 3 runs in ⅔ innings.
