‘Shoulder-waist injury twice’ finishes the national team, starts a comeback… Return at the end of May at the earliest

LG finisher Ko Woo-seok recovers from injury and prepares to return to the first team.

Ko Woo-seok has been injured twice this season. In March, he competed as a member of the World Baseball Classic national team, but voluntarily gave up due to neck muscle pain in an official evaluation match against Orix, a Japanese professional baseball team. After recovering from muscle soreness, he tried to improve his condition by pitching in the bullpen to compete in the tournament, but was unable to pitch a single game due to poor physical condition.

After recovering from a shoulder injury, Ko Woo-seok rejoined the first team on April 18, and after throwing 6 games, he suffered a back injury this time. In the match against KIA on April 30th, he had only one out count and was sluggish with 3 hits (1 home run), 2 walks and 4 runs. During pitching, his restraint did not come out properly due to back muscle pain.

Go Woo-seok, who went back to rehabilitation after that, fully recovered his physical condition. Coach Yeom Gyeong-yeop reported the situation of the injured at Jamsil Stadium on the 16th.

Go Woo-seok starts pitching on the 17th. He plans to throw 20 pitches. Director Yeom said, “Go Woo-seok will throw about 20 tomorrow, pitch and if it’s okay, he’ll throw another one. After that, he’ll throw 1-2 games for rehabilitation.” He says he is not currently sick. The process of returning after learning the actual combat sense in the 2nd team game.

Director Yeom said, “Go Woo-seok is not in pain right now. He can return to the first team as early as the end of May,” and said, “(Return) will be done slowly and safely.” He has already been injured twice, so it seems that he will not be called up in a hurry and will be restored as soon as possible. In addition, Park Myeong-geun, Yoo Young-chan, and Ham Deok-joo are currently active in the bullpen as new Pilseungjoo, filling the empty void of Go Woo-seok. 안전놀이터

Starter Lee Min-ho, who left in early April due to an elbow flexor injury, also recently started pitching. Lee Min-ho will return only in June. Director Yeom explained, “As a starting pitcher, Min-ho has to fill up the number of pitches, so it will take a little longer than Go Woo-seok. After pitching in the bullpen, he needs to throw about two games. He will throw 60 pitches and 80 pitches once and then come up.”

Bullpen Baek Seung-hyun is also recovering from an injury. Director Yeom said, “Baek Seung-hyun (recovery and return) is slower than Go Woo-seok.”

By June, LG will become a complete force. Director Yeom said, “June is the real start. We can start properly. Among the members I counted ahead of the season, all but Son Ho-young are entering.”
