No problem in Triple-A. Ryu Hyun-jin (Toronto Blue Jays), who is preparing to return to the big leagues, proved his ‘starter’s worth’ in his first five innings.
Ryu made a start for the Triple-A Toledo Mud Hens (affiliated with the Detroit Tigers) on Saturday (July 16) at Salmon Field in Buffalo, New York, allowing one run on three hits over five innings. He threw 66 pitches, one more than expected, with 46 for strikes. He struck out five.

At his current pace, Ryu is expected to throw around 85 pitches in his next start. Once he reaches 85 pitches, his next start will be a normal start. His ERA in three minor league games is 1.80. If he makes it to his next start, he could be on his way back to the big leagues.
