In his third start, he finally went five innings…RYU scores one run in 5K

No problem in Triple-A. Ryu Hyun-jin (Toronto Blue Jays), who is preparing to return to the big leagues, proved his ‘starter’s worth’ in his first five innings.

Ryu made a start for the Triple-A Toledo Mud Hens (affiliated with the Detroit Tigers) on Saturday (July 16) at Salmon Field in Buffalo, New York, allowing one run on three hits over five innings. He threw 66 pitches, one more than expected, with 46 for strikes. He struck out five.

The first inning was Jade’s tee. Ryu hit a solo home run to left-center off Justin Henry Mulroy in the first inning. It was his first home run in three minor league rehab appearances this season.

That would be the only run. After retiring the next batter in the first inning on a grounder and a strikeout, Ryu continued his hot streak, totaling three strikeouts in the second and third innings. He then retired nine straight batters in the top of the fourth inning, but back-to-back singles threatened, but he induced a grounder to third base to end the inning.

Ryu worked the fifth inning, getting two groundouts and a strikeout to end his five-inning stint.

It was his first time going five innings since his rehabilitation. Five innings is the minimum requirement to win a start. In other words, it is one of the “qualifiers” for Ryu to return. After undergoing surgery on his left elbow in June of last year, Ryu returned to the mound earlier this month after a lengthy rehabilitation and has been increasing his innings pitched. He threw three innings of one-run ball in his first appearance in the Rookie League on May 5 and four scoreless innings in Single-A on May 10. He followed that up with five innings of one-run ball in his closest Triple-A outing to the Major Leagues, raising the possibility of a return to the big leagues in the future.온라인카지노

At his current pace, Ryu is expected to throw around 85 pitches in his next start. Once he reaches 85 pitches, his next start will be a normal start. His ERA in three minor league games is 1.80. If he makes it to his next start, he could be on his way back to the big leagues.
