“Age is just a number”… KPGA oldest and youngest records

The Korea Professional Golf Association (KPGA) announced on the 3rd the oldest and youngest records ever recorded on the Korean Tour.

The oldest winning player of all time is Choi Sang-ho. In May 2005, at the KT&G Maekyung Open, at the age of 50 years, 4 months and 25 days , he lifted the championship cup. Starting with the Yeoju Open in 1978, he recorded a total of 43 wins from the KT&G Maekyung Open.

The youngest winner was Kim Joo-hyung. At the 2020 KPGA Gunsan CC Open, he won his first tour at the age of 18 years and 21 days. After winning the Gunsan CC Open, Kim Joo-hyung reached the top at the SK Telecom Open the following year and achieved two wins (18 years, 11 months, 22 days), the youngest ever.

The youngest amateur champion is Kim Dae-seop, who won the Kolon Cup 41st Korea Open in September 1998 at the age of 17 years, 2 months and 20 days. 먹튀검증

The oldest hole-in-one and the youngest hole-in-one both came in 2016.

“Busan Seagull” Shin Yong-jin made the oldest hole-in-one (51 years, 7 months, 17 days). It was recorded on the 17th hole of the 12th Dongbu Fire Promy Open 1st round held at Daeyu Montver CC in April 2016. In the same year, Im Seong-jae achieved the youngest hole-in-one at the age of 18 years, 6 months and 23 days in the 8th hole of the 4th round of the DGB Financial Group Daegu Gyeongbuk Open held at Farmy Hills CC.

The oldest recipient of the grand prize was Choi Sang-ho in 1995. He was 40 years, 9 months and 25 days old at the time. Kim Joo-hyung was the first teenager in his teens last year to hold the Genesis Grand Prize in his arms. It is his youngest ever target (19 years, 4 months, 17 days).

Lee Won-joon (Australia) won the Castelbajac Rookie Award (Myeongchul Award), the oldest at the age of 35 years and 16 days in 2020. Lee Jung-hoon became the youngest rookie of the year at the age of 19 years and 18 days in 2004.
