‘Wrist injury’ NC’s Park Se-hyuk delays return…”I can’t train my skills yet”

“His (Park’s) recovery is slower than we thought. He hasn’t been able to train yet.”

NC Dinos closer Park Se-hyuk’s absence is expected to be longer than expected.

NC manager Kang Myung-hyun spoke about Park ahead of the team’s home game against the LG Twins of the 2023 KBO on May 25 at Changwon NC Park.

Park Se-hyuk, who has been protecting NC’s safe haven, was removed from the first team roster on April 14 due to a tendinitis injury in his left wrist. It was initially expected that his absence would not be long, but his recovery was reportedly slow.

“I thought Park Se-hyuk’s injury would heal in about one turn, but his recovery is much slower,” said Kang Myung-hyun. “I originally wanted to move Kim Hyung-joon up in the September expansion roster, but I quickly moved him up. I don’t think Park Se-hyuk can take one turn. He hasn’t been able to train his skills yet, so it will take a little more time.”

Kim Hyung-jun, who replaced Park Se-hyuk in the first team, had a strong performance against the SSG Landers in Incheon the previous day (April 24). Although his performance was overshadowed by the team’s 4-7 loss, he went 2-for-3 with two doubles, a home run, two RBIs and two runs scored, including his first career back-to-back home run.

Kang said, “There’s no doubt about the stats he has. He has a lot of good parts. He hasn’t played much because of his injury, but he’s recovered now. I think he will definitely grow what he has in the future,” he praised.

He also praised Kim Hyung-joon’s defense, saying, “He has enough qualities as a catcher. He’s had such good qualities since he was a rookie,” he said, adding, “It’s just that he had a gap due to injury, but there aren’t many catchers in the KBO League who are as good as him in his second year. I think staying power will be the most important thing.”메이저놀이터

Starting pitcher Lee Jae-hak, who made his first-team debut against SSG on Thursday after recovering from a fractured metatarsal in his left foot, struggled, giving up seven runs on nine hits, three walks, two home runs and one hit batter in four innings.

However, Kang said, “(Lee Jae-hak) came up from the Futures League with enough time. But yesterday, his changeup was a little off. I think he panicked because he struggled early in the game, but he’s been preparing well, so I think he’ll pitch well in his next appearance,” Kang said, encouraging him.

Meanwhile, NC’s lineup was Son Asub (designated hitter), Park Min-woo (second base), Park Gun-woo (right field), Jason Martin (center field), Kwon Hee-dong (left field), Do Tae-hoon (first base), Seo Ho-cheol (third base), Kim Joo-won (shortstop), and Ahn Jung-yeol (catcher). The starting pitcher is Eric Peddie.
