Wrist and ankle injuries keep Lim out of KLPGA Tour events until July

Popular Korean Ladies Professional Golf (KLPGA) Tour star Im Hee-jung has been sidelined for the first half of the season with wrist and ankle injuries.

Her management company, Prenglobal Sports, announced on Sunday that Lim has withdrawn from the upcoming BC Card-Hankyung Ladies’ Cup, which begins on March 23, as well as the next four tournaments, including the McCall-Mona Yongpyong Open, Daewoo Women’s Open, MBN Women’s Open, and EverCollagen-Dushena Queen’s Crown.

Lim will focus on her injury treatment for the time being.

The KLPGA Tour will take a two-week break from competition after the EverCollagen-Dersea Queen’s Crown on July 16 and will begin the second half of its schedule with the Jeju Samdasu Masters on August 3.

For Lim, the first half of the year is over. She plans to compete in the Jeju Samdasu Masters, the first tournament of the second half of the year, but she will make a decision based on her injury treatment and rehabilitation progress.

Lim withdrew from the second round of the DB Group Korea Women’s Open at Rainbow Hills Country Club in Eumseong-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do on Sept. 16 with a sore ankle.

A medical examination revealed that her left wrist had become painful due to degenerative arthritis, and her right ankle, which had suffered ligament damage in 2019, had become painful while walking downhill at the DB Group Korea Women’s Open.안전놀이터

The defending DB Group Korea Women’s Open champion played through the pain with anti-inflammatories and painkillers and even received physical therapy in between rounds as she attempted to win her second straight title, but the pain got worse and worse and she eventually withdrew.

With five career wins, including last year’s DB Group Korean Women’s Open, Lim has been voted Most Popular on the KLPGA Tour for the past two years.
