‘World Cup duo’ could reunite at Tottenham…4 teams ‘calling’ for Hwang Hee-Chan

Interest in the move of English Premier League Wolverhampton’s Hwang Hee-chan, 27, is heating up. Recently, local media reported that Hwang has received interest from four teams. In particular, Son Heung-min’s (31) Tottenham is reportedly on the list.

“Several clubs are keeping tabs on Wolverhampton striker Hwang Hee-chan, who is under pressure to trim his squad,” the UK’s Mirror reported on Aug. 28 (KST).

Wolverhampton have invested heavily in recent years, but have finished mid-table in the league for two consecutive seasons. The club’s good relationship with “top agent” Jorge Mendes (Portugal) has allowed them to add to the agency’s roster of quality players, but the results have been less than satisfactory. Local media speculated that Wolverhampton could be in breach of UEFA Financial Fair Play (FFP).

UEFA FFP was introduced in 2015 to curb reckless transfer spending by so-called “rich clubs”. Clubs must not spend more than a certain percentage of their revenue on transfer fees and salaries. Continued violation of the FFP will result in future fines and point deductions. The specific numbers vary from club to club, but in a nutshell, in order to spend money on transfers, you have to make money. The easiest way for Wolverhampton to make money outside of league broadcasting rights is to sell players. For this reason, local reports suggest that Wolverhampton will have to sell some players.

The Mirror mentions three Premier League clubs, Aston Villa, Newcastle, and Tottenham, as well as Italian Serie A side AS Roma.

“Tottenham, who are looking to strengthen their squad, and Newcastle, who have secured a place in the Europa League, have also made enquiries with Wolverhampton,” the Mirror said, adding that “Villa and Jose Mourinho’s Roma have also expressed an interest in Hwang.”

This is a team that can draw fans from anywhere. Newcastle qualified for the UEFA Champions League for the first time in the club’s 20-year history. Villa is another Premier League side with a strong record and a strong chance of qualifying for Europe. Tottenham is the team with “international teammate” Son Heung-min. Hwang Hee-chan scored the winning goal against Portugal in the third group stage match of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar last November after receiving a pass from Son Heung-min.안전놀이터

Since joining Wolverhampton on loan in the 2021-22 season, Hwang has made 62 appearances in all competitions, scoring nine goals and providing four assists. The final game of the season is the 38th round of the Premier League against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Nov. 29 at 12:30 am.
