Los Angeles Dodgers hard-throwing right-hander Walker Buehler has given up hope of returning this season.
Buehler, who underwent Tommy John surgery last year and recently rehabbed, will not return this year, the team said in a statement on Monday. Instead, he will focus on getting healthy for 2024.
“My goal since last year has been to return to a major league mound this season, (but) after many conversations with my doctors, the Dodgers front office, training staff and family, we have concluded that it is right to wait until next season,” Buehler said.
“I am disappointed that I will not be able to help the Dodgers win a postseason game in 2023. However, I look forward to returning fully healthy in 2024 and helping lead the team to another World Series in Los Angeles.”온라인카지노
Walker recently began a rehab assignment and was expected to return in late September or in time for the postseason. However, it appears that the team has decided there is no need to push it.
Without Walker, the Dodgers’ pitching rotation is in a state of emergency. Julio Urias is effectively done for the year after being charged with domestic violence, and ace Clayton Kershaw is dealing with the aftereffects of a shoulder injury.
It will be interesting to see how manager Dave Roberts maneuvers the pitching rotation.
