The Baltimore Orioles of Major League Baseball (MLB) have added a new closer.
The Orioles signed veteran closer Craig Kimbrel, 35, to a one-year contract worth $12 million, MLB.com reported on Sunday.레모나토토
If the Orioles want to re-sign him for the 2025 season, they will pay him $13 million, with a $1 million penalty if they release him.
Baltimore is without Felix Bautista, the reigning MLB Reliever of the Year who went 8-2 with 33 saves this season, who will not play next year after undergoing season-ending elbow ligament splicing surgery.
Kimbrel, who broke into the big leagues in 2010, has a 49-42 record, 417 saves and a 2.40 ERA in 14 seasons.
He was in his prime from 2011-2014, averaging more than 40 saves per year, but has struggled since entering his 30s.
This year, he appeared in 71 games for the Philadelphia Phillies, posting an 8-6 record with 23 saves and a 3.26 ERA.
