Martin Adam rejoins Hungary squad after Jeju game…faces Mugosha in Euro qualifier

Hungarian bomber Martin Adam, who plays for Ulsan Hyundai, will leave the country after the game against Jeju United to join the Hungarian national soccer team.

Ulsan, led by head coach Hong Myung-bo, will host Jeju United in the 18th round of the Hana OneQ K League 1 2023, scheduled for 6 p.m. on Oct. 10 at Munsu Football Stadium in Ulsan. Martin Adam, who has scored four goals and provided three assists in 13 appearances in the 2023 season in the K League 1, will depart the country via Incheon International Airport on the 11th after the Jeju match to join the Hungarian national soccer team led by Italian Marco Rossi.

Hungary will next face Montenegro in the third round of Group G of the Euro 2024 regional qualifiers at the Podgorica City Stadium on June 18, followed by Lithuania on June 21, with kick-off scheduled for the Puskás Arena in Budapest.

Hungary is second in Group G of the five-team Euro 2024 Regional Qualifiers with one win, behind Serbia, who have two wins. It’s a doubleheader with plenty of room for Martin Adam to shine, both in terms of facing teams that are objectively good enough to go for the three points, and in terms of Hungary’s lack of a solid No. 9 striker following Salah Adam’s international retirement.안전놀이터

Meanwhile, it’s interesting to note that this European qualifier could see a showdown between former and current K-Ligers. Former Incheon United striker Stefan Mugosa (Bissell Kobe) has been called up to the Montenegrin national team, who will be Hungary’s first A-Match opponents in June. It will be interesting to see who gets the nod, Martin Adam, who led Ulsan to the title last year, or Mugosa, who made his mark in Incheon.
