The LPGA (American Women’s Professional Golf) Tour BMW Ladies Championship 2023 will be held at Seowon Valley CC.
BMW Korea signed a business agreement with Seowon Valley CC on the 27th and confirmed it as the venue for the event.
Seowon Hills of Seowon Valley Country Club, located in Paju, Gyeonggi-do, has the nation’s best facility scale and facilities, including a 7,367-yard battlefield (based on 18 holes) capable of hosting international competitions, the longest single hole in Korea at 640 yards, and a driving range with a distance of 300 yards. It has been selected as one of the top 10 luxury courses in Korea through the best course condition management. In addition, the ‘Seowon Valley Charity Green Concert’, which has developed into a representative cultural social contribution activity and a global K-concert, is also held every year, leading the development of domestic golf course culture.
This year’s tournament is expected to be a hit all-time as the BMW Ladies Championship is held in the metropolitan area for the first time since it was held on the LPGA tour. The BMW Ladies Championship 2023 will be held for four days with a total prize money of $2.2 million and a prize money of $330,000. A total of 78 players, including 68 LPGA Tour players and 8 invited players, will participate. Following last year, two amateurs recommended by the Korea Golf Association (KGA) will be given the right to participate this year. In addition, various social events such as enhancing peace consciousness considering the geographical characteristics of Paju, green campaign in connection with the local community, declaration of zero-waste competition that minimizes paper use throughout the competition, eco-friendly vehicle exhibition and operation of protocols, donation event of BMW Korea Future Foundation, etc. Contribution activities are planned.
