Lee Byung-bae, former vice chairman of the Pyeongtaek City Council, becomes the new president of the Unemployment Table Tennis Federation.

Lee ran as a single candidate for the 21st presidential election of the federation, which ended on the 10th, and the election was confirmed after a qualification screening by the Election Commission.

Lee, from Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi-do, served as a member of the Pyeongtaek City Council twice, and also served as deputy chairman during his second term as the 8th member.

He previously served as the executive director of the Pyeongtaek City Sports Association and is currently serving as an advisory member of the Korea Sports Association Safety Committee.

On the 23rd, President-elect Lee begins his duties after having this inauguration ceremony at the Gwanggyo Gymnasium in Suwon, where the Korean Professional Table Tennis League is held.

The federation elected a new chairman after former chairman Lee Myeong-jong resigned at the end of January.

Lee will lead the federation until January 2025, for the remaining two years of former chairman Lee’s term.
