Korean big leaguers face off…Choi Ji-Man homers, Kim Hae-Sung sprints for runs

Choi Ji-Man (32, Pittsburgh) made up for a long stint on the bench with a home run.

Choi started at first base, batting fourth, against the visiting San Diego Padres on Sunday at Petco Park in San Diego, California, USA.

It was his first start in five games since his home run against Shohei Ohtani (Los Angeles Angels) on May 22.

Seizing the opportunity, Choi led off the top of the second inning with a 0-0 count and took a 149 mph sinker from starter Seth Lugo for a solo arch over the right-center field wall. It was Choi’s sixth home run of the season.

After striking out in the fourth inning, Choi was robbed of a hit in the seventh when he was hit by a pitch. San Diego right fielder Fernando Tatis Jr. leaped in front of the fence to make the catch. In the ninth inning, Choi hit a 150-mile-per-hour grounder right in front of the third baseman.온라인바카라

Choi went 1-for-4 with a walk and an RBI. His season batting average increased slightly from .183 to .188 (12-for-64).

San Diego’s Ha-Sung Kim, 27, started in the leadoff spot and went 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored.

In the third inning, Manny Machado’s grounder with two outs dropped between the shortstop and left fielder, allowing Kim to quickly round second and third to score from first.
