KT and Kang Baek-ho finished negotiating the salary for the 2023 season late on the night of the 28th and finished signing. Both the club and Kang Baek-ho agreed on the cuts considering the results of the 2022 season, but there were differences over the width of the cuts. However, on the night of the 28th, the day before leaving for spring camp, the negotiations were dramatically concluded and signed.

On the morning of the 29th, the KT team officially announced the results of salary negotiations with 61 candidates. The player with the highest rate of increase is pitcher Eom Sang-baek. Eom Sang-baek signed a contract for 200 million won, a 150% increase from the 2022 season salary of 80 million won. Eom Sang-baek went back and forth from the starter and bullpen this season, recording 11 wins and 2 losses and an ERA of 2.95 in 33 games. He also won the odds king title with a win rate of 0.846.
