Hanwha Eagles’ Jung Yi-hwang receives Futures League no-hitter award

The Hanwha Eagles held a ceremony to commemorate pitcher Jung Yi-hwang’s no-hitter before the game against the LG Twins Future Team at the Hanwha Eagles Futures Stadium in Seosan on June 13.

Jung threw a no-hitter in the first game of a doubleheader against SSG in Ganghwa on June 28, facing 24 batters over seven innings with no hits, three walks, and six strikeouts.

As the Futures League has a rule that both the first and second games of a doubleheader are played in seven innings, Jung’s previous no-hitter was recognized as an official record.

At the pregame ceremony, KBO Commissioner Kim Pung-ki presented the trophy and Hanwha Eagles Manager Son Hyuk presented a bouquet of flowers.

“I am happy and grateful to receive such a great award with the congratulations of my teammates,” Jung said, “and I will do my best to set a good record for the first team next year.”

The Futures League no-hitter has been achieved by a total of three pitchers since 2010, when records were computerized.메이저놀이터

The first was Lee Yong-hoon of Lotte with a nine-inning perfect game against Hanwha in Daejeon on September 17, 2011, and the second and most recent was Lee Jae-gon of Lotte with a nine-inning, four-strikeout, one-hit shutout against Samsung Electronics in Ulsan in 2015.
