The France U-17 National Team defeated Uzbekistan 1-0 in the quarterfinals of the FIFA U-17 World Cup Indonesia 2023 in Surakarta, Indonesia, on Friday (July 25).
Drawn in the same group as South Korea, France defeated Senegal in a penalty shootout in the Round of 16 on June 22, and now faced Uzbekistan, the only Asian team to reach the quarterfinals. Uzbekistan was a tough opponent for France, as they had upset England in the Round of 16.레모나토토 도메인
On the day, France pushed Uzbekistan throughout the first half. However, no goals were scored in the first half, and it was Uzbekistan who found the back of the net first in the second half. Saidov celebrated, but the goal was disallowed for offside.
With a breath of fresh air, France took the lead in the 38th minute with a dramatic goal from Bunev. A French cross from the right flank was met by a header. The header hit the post, but Bunev, who was in front of the goal, pounced on the second ball to give France the lead. France defended well the rest of the way to secure the 1-0 win.
Following the match between France and Uzbekistan, the quarterfinal between Mali and Morocco took place. Like France, Mali struggled to find the back of the net throughout the match. However, Ibrahim Diarra’s goal in the 36th minute gave them a 1-0 victory over Morocco.
