He hit a leadoff home run in the first inning against the Chiba Lotte Mariners at Escon Field in Kitahiroshima, Hokkaido, on June 26. He drove an outside cut fastball from Chiba Lotte veteran right-hander Manabu Mima (37) over the right field fence.
He hit his 24th on Sept. 23 against the Rakuten Eagles, giving him a home run in three games. Hit five in 18 games in September.
