Shin Min-hyuk, who graduated from Yatapo and wore the NC uniform as the 49th pick in the second round of the 2018 rookie draft, underwent elbow ligament joint surgery (Tommy John Surgery) in November 2017, shortly after the nomination, and his professional debut was delayed.

Shin Min-hyuk, who appeared on the first team stage for the first time in 2020, immediately emerged as a rising star of NC’s starting lineup with 9 wins, 6 losses and a 4.41 ERA in 30 games in 2021. Having slowed down a bit in 2022 (4 wins, 9 losses, 4.56 ERA in 26 games), he rebounded with a 5 wins, 5 losses, and a 3.98 ERA in 29 games last year, and has emerged as an indispensable resource for NC, nicknamed “Little Peddy” by fans.

His performance continued this season. He played a key role in NCs starting lineup with eight wins, nine losses and an earned run average of 4.31 points in 25 games. After Kyle Hart (242 innings in 23 games, 12 wins, two losses and an earned run average of 2.35), he ranked second in the teams most wins and innings (121 innings), fulfilling his role as the first starter in Korea.

Shin tried to finish the season, but the club decided to have surgery for the future. Shin, who started against SSG Landers on Aug. 31, pitched 97 pitches over six innings, leading his team to a 7-2 victory with seven strikeouts, two runs and quality start pitching.

After achieving a perfect conclusion, Shin will start preparing for the 2025 season early on. Veteran pitcher Lee Jae-hak, who is scheduled to return from injury this week, will likely fill the vacancy in the starting lineup of NC Dinosaurs, which has yet to give up hope for fall baseball.
