The Mexican Professional Baseball (LMB) Secretariat has launched activities to strengthen exchanges with South Korea ahead of the 100th anniversary of the launch of Mexican professional baseball next year.
LMB President Oracio Dera Vega met with Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) President Hu Jie-yeon in Mexico City on the 3rd (local time) to exchange opinions on ways to cooperate for the development of baseball leagues between the two countries.메이저놀이터
The meeting, which was held in a closed format, was attended by major LMB executives, including Gabriel Medina, sports director, Korean-American Antony Lim (Im Sung-taek), and owners of professional baseball teams based in Veracruz and Puebla.
Ahead of the 100th anniversary of its launch (1925), LMB is planning a friendly tour of Asia, including Korea and Japan, next year, and has also sought KBO’s opinion on this.

President Dera Vega separately watched the game with Huh at his home stadium in Mexico City on the 1st and explained the “pitch clock” (pitch time limit) introduced by the U.S. Major League Baseball (MLB), LMB said.
The LMB stipulates that if there is no runner on the base, the pitcher should start pitching within 12 seconds.
The purpose is to reduce the game time, but in the case of MLB, the secretariat applied a rule last year that requires pitchers to throw balls within 15 seconds when there is no runner and within 20 seconds when there is a runner.
LMB President Dera Vega emphasized, “Thanks to various game regulations, including pitch clocks, regular innings (9 innings) games, which used to average more than 3 hours and 20 minutes, have been reduced to 2 hours and 40 minutes.”
LMB also expressed a lot of interest in Korea’s high popularity of baseball and its overall professional league operation.
LMB President Dera Vega visited Korea in person in June to prevent President Koo Hu-yeon and watch the game at Jamsil Baseball Stadium.

There are a total of 20 Mexican professional baseball teams. The team will be divided into 10 teams from the north and the south to have a league match, and the final winner will be decided through the “Serie del Rey” (King Series) such as the MLB World Series or the Korean Series.
Not only Mexico, but also other Latin American countries with high interest in baseball, such as the Dominican Republic and Cuba, are increasing their contact points with KBO.
In particular, after the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in February, Juan Reynaldo Perez Pardo, president of the Baseball and Softball Association, visited Korea in June, showing an active willingness to cooperate.
Cuban media Cuban De Bate said in a related article, “There will be more opportunities for Cuban players to sign with KBO league teams in the future through baseball team games between the two countries.”
