In the top of the sixth inning, Samsung’s first batter, Koo Ja-wook, hit a hit to right field. Ha Jae-hoon handled Koo’s hit slowly, but Koo rushed to second base as he was aiming for the opportunity. It was Koo’s double. However, he allowed one more base when he could have blocked a single.

Ha Jae-hoon was replaced by pinch hitter Han Yu-seom at bat in the bottom of the sixth inning and finished the day’s game. Ha was removed from the first team entry the following day. He was removed from the first team entry for the first time this season.

Ahead of the match against Samsung in Daegu on Wednesday, Lee said, “Ha Jae-hoon has entered the reinforcement phase and is working hard. If Ha Jae-hoon comes up, I will widely utilize his backup candidates,” adding, “He hit a home run. I am checking right now.”

Coach Lee left a strong message when Ha Jae-hoon was removed from the first-team entry. “I strongly gave him a message when I was going down,” the head coach said. “I was going to give him another chance by raising him one more time, but he told me to keep my mind strong because I won’t use it again if I do it in such a complacent play, especially in defense.”

“I told Ha Jae-hoon to focus on defense. I also talked to the 2nd team coach. I heard he is working hard on defense training now that he has entered the dorm.”

Ha Jae-hoon joined the SK Wyverns (currently SSG) with the 16th overall pick in the second round of the 2019 KBO Rookie Draft. When he joined the team, he played as a pitcher. In 61 games, he won 5-3 with 36 saves and a 1.98 ERA. However, he later chose to switch to a batter starting from the 2022 season due to an injury problem.

Ha Jae-hoon recorded 61 hits, seven homers, 35 RBIs, 35 runs and a batting average of 0.303 in 77 games last season.
