Holland is ‘EPL record destroyer’ → 4th hat-trick → next new record is also ‘determining power’

Manchester City Erling Haaland has set another English Premier League record.

Holland scored a hat-trick in the home game against Wolverhampton in the 21st round of the English Premier League (EPL) in the 2022-23 season held at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester on the night of the 22nd Korean time, leading the team to a 3-0 victory.

Holland opened fire in the 40th minute of the first half. Haaland headed the goal from De Bruyne’s cross from the right side of the arc.

Holland’s run continued in the second half. Gwyn Doan earned a penalty kick in the third minute of the second half, and Haaland stepped up as the kicker and scored his second goal.

Four minutes later, Haaland completed a hat-trick. Intercepting the goalkeeper’s mistake, Mahrez passed to Haaland, who scored it with his left foot. Haaland celebrated the hat trick by spreading three fingers.

Haaland’s four hat-tricks already are the fastest in Premier League history.

England’s The Sun reported that ‘Holland became the player who scored 4 hat-tricks in the fastest time in the EPL’.

The previous record was held by Manchester United legend Ruud van Nistelrooy. He scored four hat-tricks in 65 games.

Haaland scored his first hat-trick in the fourth game of the season, against Crystal Palace at home on August 27 last year.

And on September 1, the 5th game, in the 5th round of the English Premier League (EPL) in the 2022-23 season, he scored 4 goals, not a hat-trick, against Nottingham Forest. He scored hat tricks in two consecutive matches.

At the time, football statistics media ‘Opta’ said through social media (SNS), “Holland scored 9 goals in the first 5 EPL matches. It is a new record. It broke the record of 8 goals held by Mick Quinn and Sergio Aguero.” 스포츠토토

Quinn scored eight goals in five games for Coventry City in the 1992–93 season. There were 3 games with 2 goals and 2 games with 1 goal.

Man City legend Aguero scored 8 goals in 5 matches in the 2011-12 season. He, like Haaland, scored in all but the second round.

His third hat-trick came a month later. Haaland scored three goals in a home match against local rivals Manchester United on 2 October. In this match, Haaland scored a double hat-trick with Foden.

With this, Haaland wrote a new record of hat-tricks in three consecutive home games for the first time in the Premier League.

Now, Haaland is challenging another new record this season. EPL scored the most goals in 38 matches.

The record is Mo Salah’s 32 goals in the 2017-18 season. Haaland scored just eight goals in the remaining 17 matches, setting a new record with 33 goals. Looking at the current pace, it is no different from ‘eating porridge’.
