Doosan won 6-2 over NC in the 2024 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League home game at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul on the 18th.

Doosan beat the LG Twins, who lost to the KIA Tigers, by half a game, to rank second.

Brandon won his seventh game (four losses) of the season by blocking the NC lineup with six hits and no outs and five strikeouts and one run in six innings.

In addition, he has continued his quality start (less than three earned runs in six innings) in the last four consecutive games.

Brandon was shaken only in the first inning of the day.

In the top of the first inning, with one out, Son Ah-seop and Park Gun-woo allowed consecutive hits, giving up the first run.

But Brandon continued his perfect pitch without an additional run into the sixth.

In the meantime, Doosan’s batters accumulated points one by one.

In the bottom of the third inning when Doosan was trailing 0-1, leading batters Kim Jae-hwan and Yang Seok-hwan scored consecutive hits against NC starter Lim Sang-hyun to create a chance to hit first and third base with no outs, and Kang Seung-ho hit a large home run over the left fence to make the turnaround to 3-1.

Doosan’s batters exploded in the third inning as well.

After Huh Kyung-min, Kim Jae-hwan and Yang Seok-hwan hit three consecutive hits against NC’s second pitcher Bae Jae-hwan to run 4-1, Park Joon-young made a timely two-run hit to the left with one out and runners on the second and third bases.

Doosan’s changed pitcher Hong Gun-hee gave up a point in the seventh inning, but it did not affect the outcome of the game.

Doosan Yang Seok-hwan played 2 for 3 with 1 RBI, and Kim Jae-hwan played 2 for 3 with 1 RBI, while Kim Jae-hwan scored 2 for 1 and 2 runs.

Son Ah-seop, who is on the verge of recording the most hits in his career in the KBO League, scored one hit and one run in five at-bats.

He recorded 2,502 hits in his career, two shy of commentator Park Yong-taek’s record of most hits (2,504).
