It’s fun to see who will be the monthly MVP of the KBO League at the end and start of the month.
Voting for the July MVP is underway. The monthly MVP selects the final winner by combining the fan vote and the Korea Baseball Press Association’s press corps vote. The fan vote will continue from 10 a.m. on July 2 to 11:59 p.m. on July 7.안전놀이터
This month’s candidates include pitchers KT Wiz Park Young-hyun, SSG Landers Drew Anderson, NC Dinos Kyle Hart and Lotte Giants Charlie Barnes, while KT Mel Rojas Jr., KIA Tigers Kim Do-young, Samsung Lions Kang Min-ho and Hanwha Eagles Ahn Chi-hong were named as fielders.
Attention is focusing on whether Kim Do-young will win her third monthly MVP of the season. Kim Do-young drew attention in July by setting big records such as a four-at-bats cycling hit, the youngest, and at least 100 points in a game.
He also has a great record. In July, he showed off his formidable offensives by posting a batting average of 470 (fourth), 33 hits (joint second), seven homers (joint second), 21 RBIs (joint second), 25 runs (joint first), 815 runs (joint second), and slugging percentage (joint second).
Kim was already named MVP in April and June. The winner in June drew attention. In fact, Kim ranked third in the voting by the press corps, following Kim Hye-sung of the Kiwoom Heroes and Wilkerson of the Lotte Giants. However, he made a huge upset thanks to fans’ strong support.
KIA is still in first place, and fan sentiment for Kim Do-young is not cooling down, which is expected to have a huge impact on the MVP vote in July.
This time, however, the competitor is too strong. Other players did well, but Kang Min-ho is standing tall, showing off his “rejuvenation mode.”
In July alone, Kang hit a whopping 11 home runs. He tied for second place with Kim Do-young by four. He ranks first with a batting average of 408 (third) and an RBI single of 26. With home runs exploding, he also topped the list with a slugging percentage of 866.
Kang Min-ho is also expected to gain a significant amount of sympathy as he was found to have never won the monthly MVP award during his 20-year professional career. As he is as much a fan of Samsung as Kia, he is expected to compete tremendously with Kim Do-young.
