19-year-old high school graduate rookie sets NC club’s first milestone… “Grandpa and Grandma who came to cheer from Gimcheon, I love you.”

NC high school rookie Lim Sang-hyun (19) recorded his first victory since his debut.

Lim started the game against the Hanwha Eagles at NC Park in Changwon on Wednesday, and pitched well over six innings with three hits (one homer) and two walks, three strikeouts and two runs. He made his first quality start since his debut, and recorded his first win in 11 games (six starts).

Lim joined NC as the 15th player in the second round of the 2024 Rookie Draft, and became the first rookie pitcher with a high school diploma to win his first year’s starting championship. He is the first to set a record in the club’s history.토토사이트

Lim Sang-hyun’s good pitching, Davison’s two-run home run, Kim Joo-won’s two hits, two RBIs and two runs in five at-bats, and Kim Hui-jip’s three hits and one RBI in four at-bats won the game 5-2.

Lim threw 80 pitches, and he threw 42 fastballs, 16 fork balls, 15 sliders, and 7 curves. The maximum speed of his fastballs was 148 kilometers.

Lim was unstable in the beginning. He allowed the first run in the first inning. He allowed the batter to get on base with an infield hit. Due to Kwon Kwang-min’ groundout hit to shortstop, he allowed one out and runners on second base. Moon allowed one run first due to a timely hit to the right-handed side.

The NC Dinosaurs turned the game around 2-1 when Davidson’s two-run homerun hit in the bottom of the first inning. With one out in the second inning, Lim allowed Chae to tie the game 2-2 after hitting a solo homer over the left-center fence. After hitting the tying homer, Ahn Chi-hong was walked with one out, but Ha finished the inning with a double play of a grounder to the shortstop.

Since then, Lim has displayed stable control of fastballs, fork balls and sliders to block Hanwha hitters. With one out in the third inning, he struck out Lee Jin-young and Kwon Kwang-min in a row. He threw three outs in the fourth inning, and continued pitching without losing a run in the fifth inning.

He also walked leadoff hitter Jang Jin-hyuk in the sixth inning with his team leading 5-2. With no outs and a runner on the first base, Lee Jin-young was grounded out and double play to the second base to delete the runner. With two outs, he struck out Kwon Kwang-min with a fork ball, and recorded a quality start by playing six innings for the first time since his debut.

After the game, Lim Sang-hyun said in his first victory speech, “I’m so grateful to those who helped me from behind, and I think I was able to win my first victory like this because many people around me helped me today.”

Regarding the crisis at the beginning of the game, he said, “I’m usually warmed up a little late, but I think I threw my ball comfortably as I threw it in the game,” adding, “The coach said I could throw more aggressively, and he told me to play actively from the first pitch because the fastball is very good.”

He had no hit since the third inning. He allowed only one walk. “I didn’t mean not to throw a hit, but I kept on throwing to hit him, so I ended up hitting and striking out him,” Lim said. “Fork ball was the best today among breaking balls. I threw a lot of fork balls against left-handed hitters and sliders against right-handed hitters,” Lim said.

He allowed the leadoff hitter to get on base with a walk in the sixth inning, but handled it with a double play and made a quality start without a crisis. Lim Sang-hyun said calmly, “If you just think the same and play the same actively, the results will come out, so I just threw the same.”

He threw 80 pitches until the sixth inning and was replaced. He pitched seven innings as well. “Coach said it would be better to throw until the sixth inning, and I thought it would be appropriate for him to throw until the sixth inning,” Lim said.

Captain Park Min-woo, including the pitching seniors, congratulated me fiercely. Also, my parents couldn’t come because they had work at home, but my grandfather and grandmother came to Changwon NC Park from Gimcheon to cheer.

Lim Sang-hyun said, “You came once before, and you liked it so much that you came again today,” adding, “It’s not a close distance from Gimcheon to Changwon, but I want to say thank you so much for coming and supporting me, and I love you.”

Lim Sang-hyun said of his future aspirations, “I want to be a starting pitcher who consistently rotates starting rotation for a year.”
